The Pile
A stack of New Yorkers, and what it takes to throw one out.
About 73issues ago, I made a deal with myself: I can only throw away a New Yorker if I've published two comics. Then I got distracted. I took live drawing classes, stopped taking live drawing classes (a dog happened), and the magazines kept arriving anyway. This page keeps me honest.
- Every two strips earn one toss.
- Every full story earns one toss.
- A new issue arrives about every 8 days (47 a year, five of them double issues).
It's a little Sisyphean. The pile is the rock, and the comics are the hill.

At this pace the pile grows by about 3 a month. To just hold the line takes about two strips (or one story) a week.
3 strips and 0 stories so far. Next issue due around Oct 25. See the archive for the comics.
